Hawksford is the first company in Jersey to be accredited by STEP, The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) and now The Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Hawksford has recently received the CMI accreditation and approval, enabling in-house delivery of CMI qualifications as part of its management development programme. The corporate, private client and funds business is now in a position to award its employees with CMI qualifications. CMI is the only Chartered body in the UK that awards management and leadership qualifications, and the only body that awards Chartered Manager, the ultimate recognition of the professional manager.

Hawksford’s management development programme is aimed at future leaders, focusing on eight modules around managing people, interpersonal skills, personal effectiveness and delivering excellent results. The programme enables participants to gain a professional qualification, access to study resources, attendance to workshops, personal development planning and analysis, and coaching sessions.

Selected employees will be given the opportunity to complete CMI Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in the Principles of Management & Leadership and Coaching and Mentoring. Thirteen members of staff have signed up for the first cohort this year. Reinforcing Hawksford’s commitment to training is the successful, vibrant and forward-thinking Trainee Development Programme, which is expertly structured to develop the skills needed to progress young people and their career ambitions.

Hawksford’s Head of Learning and Development, Marisa Ballantyne, said: ‘Being able to offer CMI qualifications as well as our STEP Platinum Employer Partner status and LPI accreditation is further validation of Hawksford’s continuous investment in our people. Working with the CMI will allow Hawksford to deliver a high standard of professional qualifications and to develop the next generation of managers within the business, which has real benefits for the individuals and the organisation.

‘Hawksford's holistic and systematic approach to learning and development means that we provide a variety of work and non-work related activities to support career progression across the entire organisation. Through continued learning and development, our highly qualified workforce is able to offer creative and pragmatic solutions for the long term benefit of our clients.’

Steve Heappey, Director of Employer and Provider Partnerships at CMI said: ‘In a tough economic climate, there is no doubt that developing world-class management and leadership is essential to a company's growth, and I urge employers to make sure that they support their managers to become Chartered. We're delighted to be working with Hawksford to give its managers the opportunity to gain the professional skills that will benefit the company, as well as their own career development.’
