Hawksford assisted Macmillan Jersey this week by kick starting the annual Greatest Coffee Morning Awareness Week by inviting its neighbours along the Esplanade to join them for coffee and cake, raising £314.
Hawksford hosted its coffee morning on Monday 22nd September to help launch the weeklong initiative. Businesses and locals were invited to buy coffee and homemade cakes from the company’s Esplanade reception. A variety of treats were on offer with a baker’s dozen of Hawksford employees preparing cakes to sell. Employees from neighbouring businesses stopped by to show their support, with Appleby staff also supporting the event by baking cakes.
Maxine Rawlins, chief executive of Hawksford, commented: ‘Hawksford has an established partnership with Macmillan Jersey and the team enjoys creating a hub for people on the Esplanade to come together to raise money for the charity. The coffee morning brings a sense of community spirit to the Esplanade; it’s a fantastic way to help kick start the awareness week.’
Brian Frith, Chairman of Macmillan Jersey, said: ‘The team at Hawksford are huge supporters of Macmillan Jersey and, once again, their help in launching Jersey’s Greatest Coffee Morning is greatly appreciated.’
Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has been running since 1991. Macmillan Jersey held their first local event – Jersey’s Greatest Coffee Morning – four years ago.
