Hawksford International director Julian Hayden will be the only speaker from the Channel Islands at this year’s STEP Swiss European Annual Conference in Zurich in May.

Mr Hayden, who has more than 20 years’ experience in estate and succession planning and specialises in trusts and alternative structures, will be talking about how to use the partnerships and foundations and other civil law structures for wealth planning in a compliant world.

‘This is a fantastic opportunity to speak on behalf of Hawksford International, at what is one of the highlights in the trust calendar. The conference attracts top firms from around the world including Paris, New York and Geneva and I am pleased to have been asked to speak,’ said Mr Hayden.

Mr Hayden, who moved to Jersey in 1997 and has been with Hawksford International since 2002, will also be focusing on the use of partnerships and foundations and other civil law structures and whether they work from the point of view of compliance, flexibility and protection of wealth. Finally, Mr Hayden will be addressing the attitude of various tax authorities towards such structures.

Mr Hayden practised as a solicitor in London and for a number of years was a partner at Manches & Co before moving to Jersey. Hawksford International was last year recognised as Independent Trust Company Team of the Year at the STEP Private Client Awards.

The conference takes place between Wednesday 11 and Friday 13 May.
