The managing director of Hawksford International has been invited to sit as a presiding judge at this year’s prestigious STEP Private Client Awards.
In November 2010 Hawksford International was recognised at the STEP Private Client Awards as Trust Company Team of the Year and further to this success Nigel Bentley has been asked to take his place as one of the judges for all categories.
Nominations for the awards have recently opened and Mr Bentley said he would encourage organisations to enter.
‘The STEP Private Client Awards highlight excellence in our industry,’ said Mr Bentley.
‘To win the award in 2010 was a great achievement, especially considering it had only been two years since our management buyout. It recognised the hard work and commitment of our team.
‘Further to our success, I am delighted to have been invited to sit as a presiding judge at this year’s event. We have also committed to sponsoring the event as we think it is a great opportunity for industry leaders to get together and share their knowledge and experience as well as celebrate success,’ concluded Mr Bentley.
Mr Bentley specialises in private clients and has held the role of managing director within the company since 2003. Previously a partner of Galsworthy & Stones, English solicitors, he spent his early career as a commercial conveyancer in the City of London. He is an active member of a number of steering committees involved in the continuing development of the regulatory framework of the Jersey finance industry and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Institute of Directors. Away from work Mr Bentley, who lives in St Saviour, enjoys rugby, motor racing and spending time in France.
In 2010 Hawksford International beat off four other shortlisted Trust companies to win the Trust Company of the Year award. Richard has been appointed in the new position of ‘special advisor’ on the judging panel. This year, for the first time, investment performance will be independently reviewed for the awards and Jersey based Enhance will be providing the analysis.
‘I believe that including objective performance analysis for the investment categories is an exciting development for the STEP Private Client Awards’, said Mr Sayers. ‘I feel very privileged to be invited to be a special advisor to the judges and delighted that Enhance will be providing the investment performance analysis.’ Richard has over 16 years’ experience in the investment industry and is also the President of the Jersey branch of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
