Local Trust company, Hawksford International has collected the title of Independent Trust Company Team of the Year at Tuesday’s (19th October) STEP Private Client Awards.
The award, which was presented to the team at an awards ceremony in London on Tuesday, is the first STEP award for the company which underwent a management buyout and rebrand in October 2008.
Peter Murley, Chief Executive, Hawksford International, paid tribute to his team who have made this success possible: ‘I am thrilled for the company, it is a real honour to be recognised by STEP and an accolade which our team very much deserves. If it weren’t for the fantastic input of the team, and the diligent and conscientious approach they take in all that they do, we wouldn’t be celebrating at this moment.”
In order to beat off four shortlisted Trust companies, Hawksford International had to demonstrate excellence over the past year, taking into account any significant obstacles that the business had to overcome; excellent client service that is relationship driven, aligned with the interests of clients, transparent and cost effective, and where appropriate, bespoke; excellent leadership, including a clear vision for the future and taking advantage of market opportunities; excellent technical skills and a qualified team with support for ongoing CPD; innovation and involvement in interesting, challenging or new areas of practice; where relevant, excellent branding, visible and strategic positioning; a broader contribution to the profession and contribution to wider social responsibility, including support for good causes and maintaining high standards of staff treatment.
Managing Director, Nigel Bentley, was also effusive in his thanks to his Hawksford International colleagues: ‘To win this award is a remarkable achievement, considering it has only been two years since the management buyout. It’s testament to the hard work and commitment of the team that we’ve come so far so quickly. Our clients are at the centre of everything we do, and we intend to build upon this award, and continue to go from strength to strength’.
This success follows the recent announcement that Steve Carr, Trust Manager for Private Clients at Hawksford International, has been recognised by International publication, Private Client Practitioner in their annual Top 35 Under 35 ranking.
