Employees of six Esplanade based financial services firms, many of which are competitors, have joined forces to take part in a charity cake sale to raise money for Jersey Hospice.

Hawksford International, an independent wealth-structuring organisation based at 15 Esplanade, has called on its neighbours to bake cakes to go on sale on Monday 18th April. The firms will all be delivering their muffins, cakes and slices to Hawksford House, opposite Liberation Station, ahead of the event, which will take place between the hours of 10am and 5pm.

‘I am delighted that our team has decided to invite other financial services firms from the Esplanade to take part in our charity cake sale. The original plan had been for an internal cake-bake and sale but our team recognised that we could raise substantially more money by inviting our neighbours to join in too. By working together I am sure we can raise a significant sum for a great local cause,’ said Peter Murley, chief executive, Hawksford International. ‘We are also hoping that our position, opposite Liberation Station, will mean that members of the public will also drop in to buy a cake and support Jersey Hospice.’

The financial services organisations working together to raise money for Jersey Hospice through the sale include: Hawksford International, Capco Trust, Ogier, Appleby, IPES and Whitmill Trust Company.

Hawksford International runs an active programme of extra curricula, added value, initiatives for staff. From cookery to language classes and wine tasting courses, staff members have many opportunities to come together to develop their team working skills while enjoying themselves. In addition to these activities, staff from Hawksford International regularly take part in charity team events such as the Jersey Marathon and the Dragon Boat Race and undertake various internal fundraising events involving staff, their friends and their families.
