Hawksford will invite its business neighbours on the Esplanade for coffee and cake on Monday 23rd September when the trust company helps launch Macmillan Cancer Support (Jersey) Jersey’s Greatest Coffee Morning Awareness Week.

Hawksford will host its coffee morning at the start of the week to raise awareness of the campaign, which concludes on Sunday 29th September, and to encourage other businesses to participate and to raise money to support Macmillan Jersey.

Between 9.30am and 1pm, businesses and passers-by are invited to Hawksford House to enjoy coffee and cakes which will be prepared by Hawksford’s employees. Local stationery and equipment supplier Stephen Peck will also donate take away coffee cups free of charge on the day and all proceeds will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support (Jersey).

Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has been running since 1991. Macmillan Jersey held their first local event – Jersey’s Greatest Coffee Morning – three years ago and last year over fifty local businesses and individuals took part helping to raise awareness of the charity and over £18,000 in funds.

Hawksford chief executive, Peter Murley, said: ‘Hawksford is proud to kick start Macmillan’s coffee morning week and we hope that many other businesses will be inspired to host their own coffee morning too. There are a number of excellent bakers at Hawksford and staff will always go the extra mile to raise money for local charities so I am very much looking forward to the day.’
