HSBC Bank has strengthened its Corporate Banking team with the appointment of Real Estate expert Marc Haslam.

In Marc’s new role as Senior Corporate Banking Manager within Real Estate in Jersey, Marc will support the Senior Management team in providing specialist financing, funding and banking services to the local property and construction sectors.

Marc joined HSBC in 2004 after completing a degree in Valuation and Estate Management. On joining HSBC, Marc became part of the Bank’s newly created Real Estate team in Cardiff and in 2008 qualified as a Chartered Surveyor. In the last eight years Marc has also worked in various Senior Real Estate roles within London and the East of England before moving to Jersey this year.

Marc enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two young children and also enjoys sailing, playing golf and gliding.

Gary Drinkwater, who was recently appointed as Regional Corporate and Commercial Director for Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, said:

“HSBC is focused on growing its Real Estate business in Jersey, and is delighted to have Marc on board to provide specialist support to firms that are keen to invest in their current premises and the local construction industry with new developments. There’s no doubt these are challenging times for the commercial property market, which makes it even more important that the sector is able to access the expertise it needs. Marc’s experience and knowledge will be vital in serving the needs of our Real Estate customers locally.”
