Hot on the heels of her recent global exam success, IFM Trust’s Gillian Boyle has won the “One to Watch” award in the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) Jersey Awards 2013.
At the annual glittering black tie dinner, Gillian was recognised as National Prizewinner in the ICSA Certificate in Offshore Finance and Administration and Company Principles exams in 2012 as well as receiving the hotly contested “One to Watch” award.
Based in IFM’s Jersey office, Gillian not only achieved a Distinction in the “Trust & Company Principles” examination in 2012 but also attained the highest global mark. Gillian is a client facing officer with leading international fiduciary firm IFM Group. Commenting on Gillian’s award, IFM Group Chairman Brian Morris said: “Winning this award is a tremendous honour and achievement for Gillian and indeed for IFM. We are extremely proud of her!”

Gillian Boyle originates from Glasgow and is a fully qualified physiotherapist who changed career paths by joining IFM in 2011. Beginning her Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) the same year, she has assiduously pursued her professional qualification ever since and is due to complete the fourth and final module in the ICSA certificate programme in 2013, and plans to progress onto the diploma.
ICSA has over 36,000 members in the UK, with Jersey being home to about 300 members and some 500 students. The ICSA qualification is recognised by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and all the major employers, and is a professional graduate training scheme which covers such diverse areas as corporate governance, law, finance, administration, company secretaryship and management. ICSA upholds the highest standards of quality and professional conduct.
Gillian herself feels ‘overwhelmed’ by the award. Commenting on her exam results and the award, Gillian says “I started my working life as a physiotherapist and having changed career paths I am now assisting clients with international trading activities. The jobs are completely different but both involve working with people and contributing to their personal objectives and success. I always aim to be the best I can be and am motivated to achieve my professional qualifications for this exciting new career.”
