Geoff Cook, CEO, Jersey Finance, commented:

‘It is welcome that Jersey’s regulatory capabilities have again been recognised on an international basis. IACA, which is based in North America, is the only registry forum that sets standards and their award has recognised the collaborative work that has been undertaken to launch a fully online, publically accessible Security Interests Register in Jersey. It is especially rewarding for everyone involved in its introduction that the award is given by fellow regulatory professionals, and it is illustration of how Jersey’s regulatory capabilities remain both innovative and at the forefront of global developments.’

Launched in January 2014, the Security Interests Register is a fully online register of security interests that was developed by the officials at the Jersey Companies Registry, part of the Jersey Financial Services Commission, following extensive consultation with the finance industry.   Julian Lamb, Director at the Registry, was presented with the award for ‘outstanding achievement in secured transaction registry innovation’ by IACA representatives at a ceremony in the US.
