A new initiative – The Greening Jersey Trust – has been launched in association with Jersey Finance.

The Greening Jersey Trust will support environmental enhancement, nature restoration and the rewilding of areas of the Island, via contributions from, and collaboration with, Jersey’s financial and related professional services sector.

Jersey Finance Members are invited to join this initiative by contributing an annual participation amount, which will be used to help to transform and rewild specific identified sites across the Island. The Trust is working alongside expert charities to ensure that the sites and projects selected are those that will benefit most from the scheme. The first charities involved are The National Trust Jersey and Jersey Trees for Life.

In addition to a financial contribution of a minimum of £1,000, Member firms looking to participate in the initiative will be invited to collaborate with others taking part in the scheme joining volunteering activities, with the aim of educating and involving colleagues at all levels.

The closing date for contributions to the first year of the scheme is 31 January 2025 and the Trust will reopen for contributions towards the end of 2025. Contributing firms will also receive a logo for marketing materials and a certificate, which can be used for external and internal communications about their involvement.

Significant contributions to this initiative have been provided by Jersey Finance Member firms including Vistra, Walkers and Santander International who are waiving their fees and providing trustee, legal and banking services.
