Peter Jackson, a solicitor at Hawksford Law, part of the Hawksford Group, will be setting off on a 1,200 mile cycle ride from Jersey to the company’s Zurich office (and back to Jersey) on 30th September, raising money for charity, Cancer Research.
Mr Jackson, 57, organised the cycle ride as he recently lost both his father, Steve Jackson, and his secretary of many years, Wendy Tuckwood, to cancer within a few months of one another. ‘I am going to take the cycle ride as an opportunity to look back and remember both my father and Wendy as well as to look forward to what Cancer Research can achieve, provided they have the funds to do it,’ said Mr Jackson. ‘Cancer is a terrible disease and I want to do something meaningful to raise much needed funds for this amazing charity.’
Mr Jackson will set off on his 1,200 mile journey on 30th September, an adventure he anticipates will take him around 13 days in total. He will cycle to Zurich via Orleans, Auxerre and Basel, returning via Troyes and Chatres.
‘We are all very proud of Peter,’ said Peter Murley, chief executive, Hawksford. ‘The challenge he is about to undertake is a phenomenal test of his personal condition and his strength of mind. We are 100% behind him and shall all be thinking of him, particularly as we undertake our stints on the exercise bike in our reception!’
