Jersey Finance is hosting a conference for private client practitioners in London in May to discuss the issues affecting the wealth management sector and the opportunities for the future.

Broadcaster Nick Robinson and former chief executive officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Tom Purves, are among the high calibre speakers lined up for the event on Wednesday 16th May.

Nick Robinson will be examining the changes to the global political landscape, the economic crisis and the emergence of powerful new economies and what this could mean for global wealth creation, while Tom Purves will draw on his deep industry experience to look at some of the challenges and opportunities in the changing face of the wealth industry marketplace.

Entitled ‘Brave Wealth in a New World’, Jersey Finance’s London Private Client Conference 2012 will include two panel debates and question and answer sessions. The first will assess recent regulatory changes and the increased scrutiny and how the industry should respond, while the second will explore the competitive position of world class international finance centres and the drivers for product and service innovation in response to global trends in wealth creation.

Senior representatives from Appleby, Baker & McKenzie, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Maurice Turnor Gardner, Ogier, RBC Wealth Management, Stikeman Elliott, Vestra Wealth, Withers, the Jersey Association of Trust Companies and Jersey Finance, are taking part in the presentations and panel debates.

Geoff Cook, chief executive of Jersey Finance, commented:

Jersey’s wealth management sector continues to perform well and retains an enduring appeal to international investors and at our conference we will explore a whole range of challenges and opportunities for Jersey, but we will also examine the wider issues for the international private client sector.”
