Jersey Finance has appointed Heather Bestwick as Technical Director in succession to Robert Kirkby who leaves the role on April 16.
Heather joins Jersey Finance from Walkers’ Jersey office where she was Managing Partner. Heather worked for Walkers for over 10 years, first in the firm’s Cayman office during which time she became a Cayman Islands Attorney and Notary Public. Her practice encompassed investment funds, structured finance, secured lending, listings and yacht finance and registration. She became a Partner in 2003 and moved to the Jersey office in 2007 after Walkers opened an office in the Island.
Heather qualified as an English Solicitor with Norton Rose in London in 1993, specialising in asset finance, specifically shipping, and worked in the London and Greek offices acting for banks, financial institutions, ship owners and the Department of Trade and Industry on the home shipbuilding scheme.
