Jersey was represented alongside officials and leading members of the Abu Dhabi business community at an event held in the gardens of the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi last week to mark the Queen’s Birthday.

Sean Costello, Jersey Finance’s Head of Business Development for the GCC and India, was one of over 500 people who attended the event on Wednesday 20th April, of which Jersey Finance was also a sponsor.

Hosted by Her Majesty’s Ambassador, HE Dominic Jermey CVO OBE, also in attendance were H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Higher Education & Scientific Research, as well as a number of Embassy staff, UAE nationals and British citizens of the UAE business community.

Themed in honour of the Royal wedding taking place this week, the event also featured a wedding cake which was cut to celebrate the forthcoming event.

Sean Costello said:

“That Jersey had a presence at the Queen’s Birthday celebrations here was extremely well received and further heightens our profile within the UAE. Having officially opened our office in Abu Dhabi in March, it is extremely important that we continue to maintain visibility and attending and supporting events like this is an excellent way to do that.”
