The Jersey Finance team was very proud to support GROW Jersey last week, as part of our annual CSR initiative. GROW aims to become the largest and most inclusive organisation for social and therapeutic horticulture in Jersey. Acres of beautiful farmland, close to Surville Cemetery in Trinity, are being planted, tended to and harvested by the community. In time, it’s hoped that the crops grown will be distributed to those who need them most.
Jersey Finance was the largest voluntary group from an employer to help at GROW to date. On a beautiful July day, we worked our way through a list of tasks including watering the vegetable beds; mulching the bushes, and fruit and nut trees with wood chip; digging in adapted, empty water bottles (which will assist with the watering process); and harvesting seeds from the pollinator patches – we collected hundreds!
