On 11 and 12 February at Highlands College a number of sessions on a variety of finance sectors will help students better understand what certain careers might entail and how to stand the best chance of landing their dream role.

Each one to two-hour session will cover topics such as funds, accountancy, banking, capital markets, human resources, compliance, wealth management, digital, marketing, law, as well as lunchtime sessions on mental health and having a positive attitude.

The free sessions run from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm and are open to students of sixth-form level or equivalent. Students are free to pick and choose which workshops they wish to attend.

Commenting ahead of the events, Joe Moynihan, CEO, Jersey Finance, said:

“The finance industry has so much to offer our young people, whatever their unique skillsets and interests may be. We want to make it clear that a role in finance doesn’t have to be centred around number crunching, if that’s not an area of interest, and that you can work in areas such as events, marketing, digital, law and even social media, as a few examples. These fun ‘Spring into Finance’ workshops are designed to arm local students with the skills and knowledge to help them land a role which will set them on a path to financial independence and a stable, lifelong career.”
