Jersey Finance is hosting a special information ‘clinic’ for the public as part of its celebrations marking 60 years of the finance industry.

‘Together We Shine: Ask the Experts Day!’ takes place on Friday 4 June throughout the day at the Santander work café at Charing Cross.

Members of the public are invited to make an appointment with specialists from the industry who will be on hand to offer free information on their area of expertise during one-to-one sessions lasting up to 20 minutes. Walk-in appointments will also be available but the public is advised to book to avoid waiting time.

Experts on personal banking, investment funds and portfolio management, bespoke investment services, accountancy and tax services and careers, training and skills will be available on the day between 9 am and 5 pm.

The firms and organisations represented will be Ashburton Investments, Bracken Rothwell, Highlands College, Quilter Cheviot and Santander International, while members of the Jersey Finance team will also be present, hosting the event and answering any queries about the finance industry.

To add to the celebratory nature of the day, the following is also planned:

Local musician, Phoebe Over, will perform an acoustic set from 12.30 pm on the day
Competitions to win a special edition Diamond Jubilee Ted (a specially branded teddy bear) and free passes to Jersey Zoo
Complimentary ‘goodie’ bags will be offered to all those who book and attend a session
Joe Moynihan, CEO Jersey Finance, commented:

“We have so much expertise available from our Member firms that we felt it would be appropriate, in this anniversary year, to bring some of those experts together to offer free information on the broad range of personal financial services in which we specialize. It’s an opportunity also for people to learn about the skills and training that are offered to Islanders and the careers available and just generally to drop by an ask us about what we do.”
The event is one of a number planned this year as part of the Jersey Finance ‘Together We Shine’ campaign, where the focus is on further supporting the local community in this milestone year for the industry. It is also the 20th anniversary year since the formation of Jersey Finance itself.

He added:

“The year-long campaign, which includes a number of charity initiatives in support of the Association of Jersey Charities, is a reflection of how important we believe it is to work together and collaborate with all our stakeholders and also to make a positive contribution to the Island community in which we all live and work. We are grateful to everyone for their support and we look forward to meeting people on the day.”
