Our first Asia event for September was hosted in partnership with Apex, aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of Jersey as a jurisdiction for funds. Led by our Market Development Consultant – Asia, Maria McDermott, the event explored the technical aspects of Jersey fund structures.
Liana Wang, Client Relationship Manager at Apex, also delivered an insightful presentation, offering an introduction and overview of Jersey’s investment fund structures. She highlighted Apex’s expertise and the advantages of leveraging Jersey as a base for global fund management.
The event also examined the emerging markets in Japan and India, which are currently gaining attention as key investment topics, further enriching the discussion on Jersey’s robust investment environment.
In Hong Kong SAR, we hosted an insightful event in partnership with Ocorian. Led by Maria McDermott, our Market Development Consultant – Asia, guests gained valuable insights into the role of trusts and foundations from a Jersey perspective, specifically tailored for family offices. The event delved into the strategic advantages of Jersey’s trust structures, emphasising their flexibility and robustness in managing and preserving family wealth across generations.
Following an overview of Jersey’s unique offerings in trusts and foundations, Ocorian’s Executive Director, Private Client, Grant Barbour, alongside Director, Head of Trust Services and Resident Manager, Shawn Wang, explored the fundamental differences between Jersey trusts and foundations in wealth management and succession planning. They discussed the practical considerations for clients choosing between these two options, as well as the unique features and benefits of each structure.
Jessica Cutrera, President of Leo Wealth, also covered asset allocation planning for fiduciaries, focussing on income planning for beneficiaries, portfolio strategies amidst geopolitical uncertainty, and investing for multiple generations.
