Vanessa McGrath of Volaw Trust Company has been awarded the STEP Jersey Student Award, having scored the highest marks locally in the STEP Diploma Company Law and Practice paper.
The Jersey Branch of STEP runs an annual student award scheme every year. There are six categories and the awards are made to students scoring the highest in the examinations taken between October 2011 and September 2012.
After graduating from Leeds University with a BSC (Hons) in Mathematics and Operational Research Vanessa joined a global private bank, where she worked as a Trust Officer on the Middle East and Emerging Markets desk for a number of years. Vanessa joined Europlan in 2006, from where she joined Volaw following the merger in September 2012. Vanessa has also completed in Certificate in Offshore administration.
Vanessa McGrath, Trust Officer, Wealth Structuring Group, Volaw, says: ‘I was totally overwhelmed when I heard that I had won this award. The STEP diploma is very relevant to the work undertaken in the Wealth Structuring Group at Volaw and gives a broad look at the various aspects of Trust and Company administration.’
