KPMG in the Channel Islands have further strengthened their directorship with four promotions within the Audit team. Lee Clark and Steve Stormonth have joined KPMG’s leadership team as Executive Directors. Rachid Frihmat in Guernsey and Ben Honeywood in Jersey have been appointed Directors. All will focus on delivering audit and assurance services to financial services clients.
The internal promotions reflect the company’s philosophy to provide clients with direct access to their team of directors. It concurs with a recent period of growth for KPMG in the Channel Islands with recruitment into their Audit, Tax and Advisory service lines.
Lee Clark is a fellow of the ACCA, a general affiliate of the ICAEW and a member of KPMG’s Private Equity Group. He joined KPMG in Guernsey in 2001 and services a diverse portfolio of clients operating within the private equity and alternative investment sectors; including London Stock Exchange listed funds and mid-market European private equity buyout funds. Mr. Clark is also KPMG’s lead on wider assurance services and has extensively contributed to industry technical consultations.
Steve Stormonth is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland. He has specialised in the investment management and funds sector for 18 years, predominantly from an offshore perspective. During this time he also spent two years auditing entities within the UK retail and investment trust sector. He has extensive experience dealing with investment funds and leads the audits of listed and unlisted traditional and alternative investment funds. Mr. Stormonth also leads several key audits within the insurance sector and heads up KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute in Guernsey.
Rachid Frihmat has worked at KPMG for 11 years in both the Hong Kong and Guernsey offices. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has worked with a number of funds listed on the London Stock Exchange and on the Alternative Investment Market, as well as private equity, renewable energy and hedge fund structures.
Ben Honeywood has over 12 years experience working for the ‘Big Four’ and has been with KPMG since 2006. He currently delivers various audit and assurance services to major global Private Equity houses and is heavily involved with the European and British Private Equity & Venture Capital Associations (EVCA and BVCA). Ben joined KPMG in Jersey after spending three years based in KPMG’s Private Equity Group in London.
