The brass band is hosting ‘A Brass Spectacular’ concert on Saturday 22nd November, which is sponsored by Hawksford, with the aim of raising funds for a trip to London next year to compete in the London & Southern Counties category of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

Band member and Hawksford employee, Emilie Langlands, commented: ‘We are a self-funding subscription band and any funding we receive is from subscriptions paid by members and collections made at concerts such as this. We have been lucky enough to receive support from Hawksford to help us put on this event, which is gratefully received. The band has developed a fine reputation for exciting and innovative concerts and hopefully, with the money raised, we can go far in the competition next March.’

‘We actively encourage our employees to get involved in our CSR initiatives by inviting them to submit charities, clubs and organisations for consideration. We are really pleased to be supporting Jersey Premier Brass Band and we wish them the best of luck at their concert and during the competition next year,’ added Maxine Rawlins, chief executive officer at Hawksford.

‘A Brass Spectacular’ takes place at the Town Hall on Saturday 22nd November at 7:30pm. The concert will include a Symphonic Suite from Disney’s film, ‘Frozen,’ and will also feature well-known works such as Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Wagner’s Procession to the Minster and many more. The concert is free to attend but there will be a retiring collection for those wishing to make a donation towards the band’s visit to the brass band championships in 2015.
