In partnership with Ashburton the National Trust for Jersey is delighted to announce the launch of its Student Bag Design Competition as part of the Green House Project.

The Trust is giving 11 to 18 year olds the opportunity to create a design for a ‘bag for life’, to promote the ‘Reuse and Refill’ pledge from The Green House Project for sustainable living. The competition will be launched via the Jersey Evening Post and direct to the secondary school’s on the 3rd May 2011.

Elenor Bouchet, Marketing Manager of Ashburton, commented:
“We’re proud to be supporting this aspect of the Trust’s Green House Project. The work they’ve done to safeguard the island over the years has been invaluable and hopefully the ‘Reuse & Refill’ pledge will help raise awareness of how younger generations can live sustainably. We look forward to judging all the entries and seeing the winning design come to fruition.”

The winning design will feature on over 2,000 bags for life to be distributed free of charge at the Sunset Concerts in July, also sponsored by Ashburton.

The chosen designer will also receive the following prizes:-
·        Family membership to the National Trust for Jersey for a year
·        Free hire of Le Don Hilton for a weekend
·        Lunch for four at El Tico
·        A Trust goodie bag

Closing date: 6th June 2011
