We started the month with a visit to Victoria College to share information about the scheme with their Year 12 students. We were joined by two Year 13 students who took part in 2022 to share their experience with the current Year 12s.
On 8 March, we attended the Jersey College for Girls careers fair and were kept busy! All the students we spoke to were excited to learn more about Jerseys finance industry and we had a lot of interesting conversations.
We also attended the first Le Rocquier careers fair and got to speak to students’ Years 7 to 11!
It was great to see all of the students and speak to them about what working in finance is all about. We had engaging conversations with the Year 11’s and encouraged them to think about Life in Finance for next year. For the younger students we focused on explaining the finance industry, made it relevant to them and asked them to complete a quiz on some interesting facts about Jersey’s finance industry.
At the end of the month, we had our final Life in Finance presentation at Beaulieu. We had a previous Beaulieu student attend with us who now works in the industry, this really helped students visualise how the scheme can help them in the future.
We also hosted an event on communicating effectively for our Future Connect members, which highlighted the importance of clear and effective communication from guest speaker, Natalie Dimon, Director at Chapter One.
March has been an amazing month for our careers and skills initiatives and events, and we cannot wait for the next step of Life in Finance, our Meet and Greet event which will be on Thursday 4 May.
If you would like more information on our Life in Finance scheme or any other careers and skills items, please email Charli and Jess.
