Following on from the JFSC’s announcement last year to follow the UK’s Retail Distribution Review (RDR), members of the local finance industry have been busy studying in order to reach RFA / RDR compliance before the 2013 deadline. Therefore, the time is right to start thinking about adding a distinct advantage to your operations within an ever-evolving investment climate.
The Jersey International Business School is delighted to announce the launch of two new gold standard qualifications for the global finance industry, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Masters in Wealth Management, both of which are benchmarked as Masters Level 7 qualifications. This will be the first time that the CFA has been taught in Jersey and it is the type of qualification that allows individuals to differentiate themselves in an increasingly global jobs market.
Chris Usher, Senior Lecturer, comments, “We are delighted that the Business School will be working with 7city Learning whose expert trainers have a reputation for enthusiasm and innovation in preparing more than 3,000 people a year, across nine global locations, for the CFA® exams. Investors recognise this qualification as one of the definitive standards for measuring competence and integrity in the fields of portfolio management, and finance in general.”
To help students understand the qualification more fully there will be an Open Evening at the Jersey International Business School on Wednesday 27th June at 5.30pm where a local CFA Charterholder will be available to discuss the demands of the qualification and provide an overview of the course of study. The second qualification to be launched by the Business School is the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Masters in Wealth Management, which is the CISI’s flagship qualification for wealth managers, Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) and private client managers, and is also comparable to a Masters Level 7 qualification.
Chris continues, “As a major offshore financial centre, Jersey has to keep pace with educational developments globally. Although continued study can be daunting for some, those students who have already successfully completed the PCIAM exam will be exempt from Unit 1 of the CISI Masters and students who have studied PCIAM at the Business School will also receive a 10% discount."
