Mourant Ozannes has been shortlisted in the 'European Law Firm of the Year' category of the British Legal Awards (BLA), alongside some of the industry’s highest calibre European firms, and is the only offshore law firm to be shortlisted in any category.

The BLA are the leading awards for the UK's thriving business law community, acting as a showcase for the achievements of one of the country's most successful sectors. Hosted by Legal Week in association with The City of London Law Society, the awards ceremony later this month will be attended by 1,000 lawyers, representing the very best of the UK's legal community.

Mourant Ozannes Global Managing Partner Jonathan Rigby said: “The British Legal Awards are among the most coveted accolades in our industry. We are the only offshore law firm to be recognised and it is an honour to be independently endorsed alongside major names in the European legal sector. It is testament to the hard work of everyone at Mourant Ozannes, our truly 'one firm' approach and our relentless focus on client commitment."

A major feature of the awards is the credibility of the judging process. An independent judging panel led by Alasdair Douglas, chairman of the City of London Law Society, decides the winners. Mourant Ozannes was named Offshore Law Firm of the Year at the BLA in 2013.
