Ogier has advised Lee Kim Tah-Metro Jersey Limited on its £76,000,000 purchase of 5 Chancery Lane, London, as part of a 50/50 joint venture by Singaporean investors Lee Kim Tah Group and Metro Holdings.

Sitting in the heart of London's prestigious legal quarter, the property has historically been occupied by legal practitioners. It is currently let by law firm Lewis Silkin until 2023 and comprises over 80,000 sq ft of office space.

Advising on the Jersey aspects of the transaction, the Ogier team was led by partner Richard Daggett, with senior associate Amy Garrod and trainee solicitor Natasha Aurakzai, working alongside English advisers Dentons UKMEA LLP on both corporate and banking aspects. Richard said: "We were delighted to work closely with Lee Kim Tah and Metro Holdings on this significant deal for the London office sector. "Also, it is great to see that the interest of overseas investors in the UK remains high, carrying on the sizeable deal flow of Q4 2017 into the start of this year as well."
