A total of 208 members of staff from RBC Wealth Management have made the commitment to take part in this year’s Jersey Marathon.
The company will be entering 38 relay teams and a record 18 members of staff will be tackling the full 26-mile course of the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon.
The event takes place on Sunday 2 October 2011 and the RBC Wealth Management staff taking part will be raising money for a variety of charities.
Steve Romeril, RBC Wealth Management's Head of Trust in the British Isles saidthat the Jersey Marathon had clearly captured the imagination of employees. ‘The marathon is a fantastic personal challenge, whether you are running the full course or entering as a member of a relay team. That challenge coupled with the ability to raise money for charity seems to have made this an increasingly popular event,’ said Mr Romeril.
‘We have no shortage of employees wanting to take part and it is quite inspiring to know that so many are willing to get involved – it’s a significant commitment to both training and fund-raising,’ he said.
A number of the RBC Wealth Management runners will be training together over the coming couple of months and Mr Romeril said that, as in previous year’s, the company would be supporting their efforts, both in the lead up to the event and on the day. ‘Non-running colleagues will line parts of the course, as they have done in previous years, to make sure everyone gets a cheer to their finish line,’ he said.
