Richard Gomersall has been appointed as a Client Director at Rathbone Investment Management International. In his new role Richard will primarily be responsible for the growth of Rathbones’ private client business in Asia, whilst continuing to look after private clients in Jersey.

Richard began his career in finance in 1999 with NatWest in Jersey; and six years later he moved to UBS AG as a Client Advisor. He relocated with HSBC to Hong Kong in early 2009; and in a regulated role, he was responsible for advising HSBC’s high net worth expatriate clients in Hong Kong and Japan, in addition to advising the Group’s senior executives in the region.

Richard is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and holds the Chartered Wealth Manager designation. Richard has previously completed the CISI Investment Advice Certificate with distinction, the Securities Institute Diploma and a Diploma in Trust and Estate Practice. Richard graduated from Bangor University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Banking, Insurance and Finance and additionally received a BSc (Hons) in Financial Services from Manchester University.

Married to Roslyn, they have four young children; and in his leisure time Richard enjoys playing cricket, hockey and golf.
