Children from Durrell’s Dodolings Club recently enjoyed learning about gorillas as part of Durrell’s local education programme.
The session, in which the children prepared food packages and fed the gorillas at the wildlife park, received a cash boost when staff at RBC Wealth Management donated over £500 to Durrell as a result of a dress down day.
The world-renowned local charity was chosen by RBC employees to receive the donation – welcome news to Durrell following cuts by the States of Jersey to the Trust’s education programme.
Lisa Journeaux, Social Events Coordinator for RBC Wealth Management in the British Isles, was with the group as they learnt about the gorillas and conservation in general.
‘We all had a fantastic morning. The best part was feeding the gorillas – the children really loved watching these magnificent animals. The Dodolings Club is a great initiative to educate children at a young age on the role we can play in helping the environment and animal conservation.’
