Five local environmental good causes will receive £500 each, as RBC Wealth Management launches its RBC Green Grants. The organisation took the decision to set up the grant programme, as an addition to its main local charitable donations fund, to support meaningful and important environmental projects in the island.

Francis Binney, RBC’s Environmental Officer said: ‘After attending the Inter-Island Environment Meeting each year, it’s clear to see just how many environmental good causes there are across the Channel Islands that provide their own invaluable specialisms. Over the years, we’ve provided teams of RBC staff to help with specific environmental projects. However, we can’t reach them all. So, by setting up RBC Green Grants, we are now able to reach a greater number of these good causes by offering support through funding.

‘We are looking for projects that demonstrate a clear ecological and conservation benefit to anywhere in Jersey. Applications will be judged by a committee of eight RBC employees and we would like to hear from interested parties by 13 May.  We will be able to announce the names of the successful applicants by the beginning of June.’

‘Charities, schools and student researchers are all eligible to apply for the grants. We are especially keen to reach small organisations where £500 will make a real difference.’
