LONDON, 16 May 2012 – RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE), has once again been recognised by industry peers for service excellence, winning two awards at the 2012 Citywealth Magic Circle Awards.

RBC Wealth Management’s British Isles Trust and Fiduciary Services business was named Trust Company of the Year, while Alan Binnington, Private Client Director, RBC Wealth Management was named Trustee of the Year. These awards are the latest in a series of industry commendations that RBC Wealth Management’s trust capabilities have received over the past year, including awards from Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), Private Client Practitioner and Euromoney 2012.

The Citywealth Magic Circle Awards ceremony, which took place on Thursday 10th May, seeks to recognise the achievements of leading law firms, trust companies, family offices, tax advisors, investment managers and bankers in the wealth sector.

Alan has over 30 years’ experience in the trust industry both as trust litigation lawyer and trustee. In addition to being President of the Jersey Association of Trust Companies (JATCO), Deputy Chairman of Jersey’s Institute of Law and one of Jersey’s Law Commissioners, he is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Association of Contentious Trust & Probate Specialists and an Academic of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
