Tristan, who advises borrowers and lenders on all aspects of real estate financing, including Islamic financing and enforcement matters, has practised in Jersey since 2013, and previously worked in the Banking team at Norton Rose Fulbright in London.
Tristan’s promotion to Partnership, along with other promotions across the Channel Islands, means that Walkers now has 22 partners across its Jersey and Guernsey offices, an increase which coincides with total lawyer headcount across the Channel Islands increasing by more than 70% in the last two years.
His promotion also means that Walkers’ Jersey Banking & Finance team is now led by four specialist Partners – Tristan joins Partners Alexandra Corner and Nigel Weston, and Group Partner Jon Le Rossignol in the leadership group.
The annual round of promotions at Walkers have also seen Ruth Donnellan promoted to Senior Associate in the Jersey Investment Funds & Corporate Practice Group, and Grace Pickering promoted to Head of Channel Islands Listings.
Jonathan Heaney, the Managing Partner of Walkers’ Jersey office and leader of the firm’s Channel Islands Investment Funds & Corporate Practice, added: “Ruth’s promotion reflects her dedication and skill, and the impact she has made in our growing funds and corporate practice. Her promotion is well-earned, and I am very pleased to see her take on more of a leadership role within the group. Similarly, Grace has been doing a tremendous job in growing our Listings practice, and we are delighted to see her progress in our business in this manner.”
Fraser Hern, the Head of Walkers’ Channel Islands business, said: “As our Channel Islands business grows in terms of size, reputation and market share we create more opportunities for talented and motivated people in our teams to step up and develop their careers. Since joining the firm, Tristan has made a very significant impact on our Banking & Finance practice, and on our business as a whole. I am delighted to see his ambition, skill and dedication deservedly recognised with a Partnership promotion, and am excited about working with him as a Partner in the future. I am also very pleased to see the talents of Ruth Donellan and Grace Pickering recognised with their own promotions. They have each been instrumental in helping our business go from strength to strength, and have tremendous potential.”
