Volaw’s Managing Director Robert Christensen was appointed to the Board of Jersey Finance Limited to replace long-serving director and deputy-chairman Geoffrey Grime, at Jersey Finance’s AGM on Thursday 20 June 2013. Robert Christensen will assume the post of deputy-chairman vacated by Geoffrey Grime’s retirement. Paul Savery, Managing Director of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, was also unanimously elected to the Board.

Commenting on the new appointments, Chairman of Jersey Finance Jonathan White said: “It is important that Jersey Finance retains a broad range of specialist expertise at board level and, with that in mind, I am delighted to welcome Rob Christensen and Paul Savery to the Jersey Finance team. I would also like to pay tribute to the contribution Geoffrey Grime, who was instrumental in setting up the company, has made to Jersey Finance over the years.”

Robert Christensen was one of the founding directors of Jersey Finance in 2000 and served on JFL’s board until 2008. In expressing his pleasure at being selected to rejoin the Board of the organisation, he said: “Jersey Finance plays an invaluable role in promoting the Island’s reputation as a pre-eminent finance centre and in representing the Island’s finance industry before government bodies and regulators. I am confident that JFL will continue to focus on enhancing Jersey’s reputation on the international stage, emphasising the Island’s robust regulatory regime and strong results that places Jersey ahead of other jurisdictions.”
