Around 70 parents and students in Years 10 and 11 at the Island’s secondary schools took the opportunity to meet representatives from the Finance Industry on Thursday 7th October at Haute Vallée School’s Lecture Theatre.
Part of Jersey Finance’s ‘Schools Roadshow Programme’, the Parents’ Evening was designed to showcase the varied career paths available in Jersey’s largest sector. Representatives from Jersey Finance Member firms Ernst & Young, KPMG, Deloitte, Citi, HSBC, BNP Paribas and SG Hambros were on hand to offer advice to parents and students.
Phil Austin, Chair of the Education and Resource Group, commented
“We were delighted to welcome around 70 people to this latest Schools Roadshow event and I am sure that those who attended the Parents’ Evening would have been surprised to learn about the breadth of opportunities available within the Finance Industry. Students were also given valuable tips on CV writing and interview techniques and had the chance to ask any questions on a one-to-one basis with business representatives.”
