SG Kleinwort Hambros is proud to announce a donation of £45,000 to their charity partner FREEDA, as part of their ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Over the past three years SG Kleinwort Hambros have committed a lot their fundraising efforts to FREEDA in various ways, which includes staff participation in events such as: charity bake sales, cycle challenges, Auction of Promises and Donate the First (wage giving), bake off competitions and running marathons.
However, an opportunity has arisen for the bank to donate a further £45,000 to FREEDA.
Kate Wright, CEO for FREEDA commented, ‘one of the key projects the team and I are particularly looking forward to implement in 2025, is a much needed Domestic Abuse Counselling Service based in a new, accessible community hub.
It is SG Kleinwort Hambros incredibly generous donation of £45,000 that has enabled us to accelerate our plans for this important project and to provide this vital support to victim-survivors of domestic abuse much more quickly than we had been anticipating.
We simply could not support the many women and children that we do, day in day out, in our safe house, out in the community and via our education programmes without the generosity of friends and supporters like you.’
FREEDA’s Mission is to protect and empower women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, so they can take control of their lives, enabling them to live free from fear, as well as to engage with and support our island community to prevent such abuse.
FREEDA was formerly known as Jersey Women’s Refuge.
Phil McIlwraith, SG Kleinwort Hambros, Jersey Branch Manager, commented ‘we are so proud to be able to provide these addition funds to FREEDA. The financial giving of the one-off donation of £45,000, also extends to SG Kleinwort Hambros providing a similar amount to each of our charity partners of GROW in Guernsey, Club House in Gibraltar and Shelter for the United Kingdom.’
End.
