Locate Jersey is delighted to confirm that its business relations with China have been boosted further with the appointment of a project manager in Beijing using the services of China-Britain Business Council’s (CBBC) Launchpad scheme.
Ms Nora Zhang will work on a project basis exclusively for Locate Jersey to develop its China business development activities, undertaking advice, research and marketing.
Ms Zhang’s main role is to convey the Jersey proposition and create potential business opportunities for Jersey businesses, to promote Jersey as a place to do business, build on previous relationships and establish new links with representative bodies, businesses and government, whilst marketing Jersey as a destination for Chinese visitors.

Minister for Economic Development, Senator Alan Maclean commented on the appointment:
“We are delighted to be continuing our on-going working relationship with China-Britain Business Council and utilising their Launchpad Scheme in Beijing. Nora’s appointment signifies the importance that we place on China as a key global market to achieve economic diversification and growth plans. This move is excellent news for Jersey and local businesses and is a further significant step forward in identifying opportunities in the region.”
One of Ms Zhang’s first assignments will be to assist the current July visit to China by the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and Assistant Chief Minister, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache.
