An array of finance industry experts with unique insights into global markets will contribute to an annual day-long series of virtual presentations and discussions on industry issues, hosted by Jersey Finance on Wednesday 14 July.

Entitled ‘Global Jersey – International Perspectives’, the event’s overarching theme will focus on Jersey’s vital role and positive impact on global economies.

Panel discussions will look at the wider picture with industry experts from the UK, the Middle East, the Far East and the United States, participating in a series of sessions led by the Jersey Finance team. The panels, each with a different group of contributors, will cover banking’s future with a focus on banking service innovation in the Gulf, the resolution of conflicts between individuals or families in the private wealth market, a look at how international investors can best minimize political risk, an analysis of the issues affecting alternative fund domiciliation choices and a review of women driving wealth management.

To mark the 60th anniversary year since the beginning of the finance industry in Jersey, the final panel session will look forward to the next 60 years.

Opening the event, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive Officer, Jersey Finance, will provide an overview of the trends, challenges and opportunities within Jersey’s key markets, and Allan Wood, Global Head of Business Development, will share his thoughts on global opportunities for Jersey.

Joe Moynihan said:

“It’s a milestone year for the finance industry, which since its infancy has evolved and developed to enable Jersey to become one of the leading and most successful international finance centres. In so doing, we consistently make a positive contribution to economies worldwide through our cross-border investment expertise, supported by robust regulation and a respected and long-standing legal armoury. There have been challenges and opportunities throughout those six decades and it remains the case today. I’m delighted that so many expert voices from around the world have agreed to join us next week when, while marking this anniversary year for the industry, we can debate future trends, the challenges and opportunities that may arise within Jersey’s key markets”.

The event is free to attend and will be live streamed via Vimeo and YouTube.
