Themis, the financial crime experts, published their UK Financial Crime Country Risk Report earlier this week.  The report has been written in accordance with the Wolfsberg Group’s guidance on jurisdictional risk, ‘Country Risk Frequently Asked Questions’, with a view to assisting readers in understanding the financial crime risks when conducting business with individuals and organisations in the country.

This 63-page, in-depth report sets out the following:

  • The UK’s institutional and legal financial crime framework.
  • Financial crime regulatory overview including National Risk Assessment, FATF Assessments, AML/CTF Regulatory
  • Requirements, and Sanctions Regime.
  • Analysis of specific financial crimes, including case studies.

The report can be purchased on the Themis website.

Jersey Finance has worked with Themis since 2022 to host a series of events to support the understanding and managing of financial crime risks. The majority of customers in Jersey’s finance industry are non-resident, therefore it is critical for our industry to understand and manage financial crime risks and threats. We continue to work closely with Themis on a number of initiatives and are partnering with them on the UAE Financial Crime Country Risk Workshop at The Royal Yacht Hotel on Thursday 4 May.
