Participation numbers continue to grow year on year, from young triathletes to first timers and organisers are looking forward to welcoming 600 children of all abilities to the event! The event welcomes children of all abilities aged from 6-13yrs (year 2–8) to take part. There are no winners or losers, just lots of achievers.

The family fun day raises valuable funds and awareness for Bloodwise Jersey, a local charity who are actively involved in supporting research into all forms of blood cancer. If every child raised £30 each, the event would reach its fundraising target of £15,000. There are lots of exciting fundraising prizes up for grabs!

Chris Rowland, the Bloodwise Jersey Chairman is excited to once again see how much the children enjoy the day and notes “This is now the biggest children-only event in the Channel Islands, and we hope to have 600 entrants this year. Bloodwise is a charity for research into all blood cancers and there have been amazing results in the treatment of Leukaemia in children. When the charity was started 60 years ago most patients would not survive, but now 9 out of 10 are cured and go on to live a long and full life. This is why we continue in our quest to raise funds towards research and of course participants help in this is essential and very much appreciated”.

“Now in our fourth year as title sponsor, we are proud to support the largest kids’ charity sporting event in the Channel Islands,” said Clive Wright, Managing Director of Vistra Jersey. “The sponsorship is part of Vistra’s ongoing commitment to giving back to our communities. From the youthful participants and parents, to volunteers and all the supporters, we look forward to the enthusiasm and sportsmanship that this event creates while raising funds for a good cause.”

The fantastic team of volunteers from AZTEC Jersey Tri Stars, Jersey Swimming, Jersey Cycling and Jersey parkrun allow children to experience a professional triathlon in a fun & safe environment.

It will be another great day of entertainment for the whole family, which includes a range of food and drink, face painting for the children and many more stalls to get involved with.
