Multiple hurricanes in September, widespread damage was inflicted in the BVI, where Vistra have an office and employ 23 staff. Nearly all buildings in the BVI were destroyed or severely damaged, with significant damage to major infrastructure. Last month the Vistra BVI office returned to normal operating hours and although there is still a long way to go, we hope that life in the BVI will be able to return to normal soon.

Riders will be cycling for 10 to 30 minutes slots during a 24 hour period starting on 22 November, and have to cover 168 miles each hour to achieve the distance.

Vistra Jersey will begin the challenge with one bike for 24 hours from 4pm on 22 November to 4pm on 23 November. Vistra Reading will begin cycling on 23 November from 9am to 5:30pm with two bikes. The Bristol and London offices will then be manning two bikes for a full 24 hour period between 4pm on 23 November and 4pm on 24 November. Vistra Amsterdam will conclude the challenge running four bikes for six hours on Friday, which will make 24 hours cycled in total.

Vistra is hoping to raise at least £2,500 from this challenge to top up the £205,500 they have raised to date. All funds raised are going towards supporting their BVI staff and their families in the appropriate way that matches each individual.

Managing Director of Vistra Jersey, Jane Pearce, commented: “The response from Vistra staff wanting to support their colleagues in the BVI has been really overwhelming. We hope this will help further bolster the funds raised and will go some way towards helping our staff and their families rebuild.”
