The Jersey public will get the chance to meet ‘The Experts’ from Voisin law firm during a free consultation session with members of their legal team on 7 July 2010.

‘The Experts’ are a selection of legal specialists from Voisin’s Property, Private Client and Litigation teams who will be available to discuss legal matters on a one-to-one basis.

Members of the public can turn up for the free lunchtime clinic without an appointment. They will be offered an individual 15 minute session with a member of the legal panel. The free session should give people an idea of the likely legal process that would need to be followed if the particular matter is pursued, as well as an indication of the likely cost. If someone is not sure if a matter is worth pursuing, this is the perfect chance to find out at no cost!

‘The Experts’ comprise Eric Salaün, Tara Family and Melanie L’Amy of Voisin Property, Anne Hembry and Janina Porter of Voisin’s Wills and Probate team, and Katherine Thorne and Lee Ingram of Voisin Litigation.

Eric Salaün has been a conveyancer for 30 years and has extensive experience in dealing with both residential and commercial conveyancing transactions and drafting contracts for developments.

Tara Family is an English Solicitor who specialises in commercial property transactions, including freehold transactions, commercial leases and the legal implications of property development.

Melanie L’Amy focuses on "J" category company incorporations, freehold purchases, sales and remortgaging. In the current economic climate she will be particularly useful to those who want to explore their options in regards to their property.

Anne Hembry has been with Voisin for 30 years and manages the Wills and Probate department. She specialises in Wills, administering estates, undertaking curatorship, and enquiries relating to intellectual property.

Janina Porter is an English Solicitor in the Private Client department dealing with Wills, curatorship and estate administration.

Katherine Thorne deals with issues regarding personal injury, medical negligence and debt recovery claims. In the past year, Voisin has seen enquiries in these areas rise dramatically and Katherine aims to clarify people’s understanding of this contentious area of law.

The final member of ‘The Experts’ panel is Solicitor Lee Ingram who has been with Voisin for over ten years. He specialises in matrimonial, insurance, investment, personal injury and civil litigation matters. He is one of Jersey’s insurance law specialists, holding a degree in Insurance and Financial Risk Management.

The free drop-in session is intended to offer people the chance to have initial advice on a range of legal issues to enable them to decide if they want take the matter further. Voisin also hope that these informal meetings will make people feel more comfortable about coming into a lawyer’s office, perhaps for the first time.

‘The Experts’ session will be held on 7 July 2010 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Voisin’s offices in Templar House, Don Road, St Helier and everyone is welcome.
