Volaw Trust & Corporate Services Limited has been shortlisted for the prestigious STEP Private Client Awards 2011 in the ‘Owner-Managed Trust Team of the Year’ category.

The STEP awards highlight excellence and innovation among private client solicitors/attorneys, accountants, barristers, bankers, trust managers, financial advisors and insurance professionals worldwide. To be shortlisted is a great achievement, as competition is high with over 150 entries this year, and only the most outstanding in each category made the shortlist.

The ‘Owner-Managed Trust Team of the Year’ category applies to trust companies that are not controlled by a bank anywhere in the world. To make the shortlist Volaw had to demonstrate a high level of customer service, clear independence, a comprehensive policy in respect of asset allocation and a high understanding of risk management.

Alongside Volaw, four other companies have been shortlisted for this award and the winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 15th September 2011 at the London Hilton Park Lane Hotel.

Volaw has won several accolades during the past year; Managing Director Robert Christensen was included in the Citywealth Leaders List; Senior Manager Alicia McGinney won the Trustee of the Year Award at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards; Administrator Jade Greenwood achieved the highest score by a Jersey student in the STEP Diploma; Volaw was awarded the Best Islamic Administrator / Trustee Award in the Islamic Finance Awards at the Sukuk Summit; and Volaw was also the winner of Jersey Association of Trust Companies’ (JATCo) 2011 inaugural CSR Awards.

Managing Director of Volaw, Robert Christensen, said:

‘Being shortlisted for the STEP Private Client Awards highlights significant achievement across all areas of Volaw’s business, reflecting our commitment to delivering high quality service to our clients. My colleagues and I are proud to have our efforts acknowledged in this way.’
