Banking and finance specialist Tristan Maultby has joined Walkers’ Jersey Banking and Finance team as senior counsel as one of four new lawyers in the team this month.

Tristan’s arrival follows that of new Group Partner Leanne Wallser, and coincides with the recruitment of Insolvency and Dispute Resolution associate Craig Macleod and Banking & Finance legal assistant Matthew Allen.

The four are part of Walkers’ strategic growth in Jersey which has also this year seen the arrivals of Insolvency & Dispute Resolution partner Nigel Sanders, Banking & Finance senior counsel Jon Le Rossignol, Investment Funds associate Joseph Barker-Willis and listings manager Grace Pickering.

Jonathan Heaney, the managing partner of Walkers’ team in Jersey, said: “The growth of our banking, disputes and funds teams reflect not just our confidence in the market here in Jersey, but also the growth we are seeing in current client demand.

“Leanne, Tristan, Craig and Matthew are very welcome arrivals to the team as our strategic growth here in the Channel Islands continues, and we look forward to them playing a part in the development of our funds, banking and litigation practices.”

Tristan qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales at Norton Rose Fulbright’s London office, where he subsequently spent four years in the Banking & Restructuring team, followed by six years at another offshore firm, where he advised global financial institutions, corporates, trustees and other entities on a wide range of financing transactions as well as on the structuring of the Jersey elements of those transactions.

Craig Macleod joins the Jersey Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team as an associate, having qualified at leading Scottish commercial firm Burness Paull LLP, with experience in litigation, tax, banking and funds.

Matthew Allen has joined the Jersey Banking & Finance team as a legal assistant pending admission as a Northern Ireland-admitted Solicitor, having completed his training contract with A&L Goodbody.
