Wednesday 6 November will see the relaunch of the Young Enterprise ‘Company Programme’ project. This year it will be facilitated by Skills Jersey, with the support of the local YE board.
This year, following feedback from stakeholders and reflection on previous cohorts, the length of the programme has been shortened and the opportunity will be offered to year 9s, which it is believed will help support students in making their final choices around their GCSE subject selections, and may inform year 10 Trident work experience choices. Such experiences are vital for young people and serve to assist them in developing those much needed entrepreneurial and employability skills, as well as building relevant experience and pathways into industry.
As in previous years, these aims cannot be achieved without the invaluable support from business people and local entrepreneurs. With this in mind, we are putting out a call to industry to see if any of you might be willing to provide mentoring support/advice and guidance over the 3-month duration the programme runs, or offer a masterclass in one of the associated areas: how to manage finances, market research, product or service design, marketing and advertising, sales, IT & Digital, sustainability, HR functions, team working and general running of a business.
Support could be one off, for one of our participating schools, or more frequent support, if your circumstances allow.
