About us
PwC is a highly dynamic professional services firm offering Advisory, Tax, Audit and other assurance services to a large portfolio of international and local clients. The Channel Islands firm employs 600+ staff in offices across Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney and is part of an international network of 151 PwC firms employing over 364,000 staff.
As the leading provider of professional services to the financial services industry, PwC CI works with a broad range of clients across the Channel Islands and globally. You will be part of a CI Advisory team of 95+ people, with the opportunity to work collaboratively across much larger global teams, providing opportunities to work with and learn from colleagues across the PwC network, ensuring you have access to a diverse range of talent and capability. You will work closely with Managers, Directors and Partners, be involved in a variety of sustainability engagements, interacting with clients and building and strengthening business relationships across the region and wider network. You will also have excellent opportunities to be involved in strategic initiatives, have input into the management of the business and contribute directly to the running of the practice. As part of an agile Advisory practice, you may also be required to work on wider non-sustainability client projects, when the business need arises, which will provide further opportunities for you to develop well-rounded consultancy experience. Over time you will become a trusted business advisor, working as part of a team, defining project strategy for multiple and/or complex projects and other key initiatives of the firm.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced professional with proven ESG, climate change or sustainability skills to join our team at this exciting time as we continue to grow our business in line with our wider strategy, which has three focus areas:
• Trust in What Matters: we focus on building trust in all its forms and deliver it through everything we do.
• Climate: to help accelerate the transition to a sustainable world, we support our clients in reconfiguring their business and the ecosystems around them to eliminate net greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to climate change. We help them create value, manage risk, report climate impact data and support them through the transition to a net zero future.
• Business Model Reinvention: we help clients reimagine the value they create for customers in a tech-powered world; the resources, capabilities and partnerships they deploy to deliver that value; and how they make money while doing so.
Each of the above focus areas is underpinned by integrity and quality in everything that we do.
The role will include significant opportunities for further skills development, through training and qualification opportunities, and on-the-job training on PwC methodologies and frameworks in relation to sustainability.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for areas such as the following:
• Bringing your knowledge and prior experience to bear to help clients navigate their level of ambition on their sustainability objectives, and providing them with practical advice on to achieve them.
• Applying your knowledge of relevant ESG, climate risk and sustainable finance regulations to support our clients.
• Understanding key drivers of a business (financial and non-financial).
• Analysing business and investment portfolio risks and opportunities arising from climate risk and the transition to net zero.
• Assisting with writing aspects of reports and proposals for our clients, presenting solutions and information in a logical and structured manner.
• Assimilating information quickly and problem solving, including being responsible for the production of regulatory or risk analysis and reports of emerging regulations and industry trends across the Asset & Wealth Management industry (AWM), specifically with an ESG focus.
• Representing PwC and our brand by relationship building and networking with both clients and people across our PwC network.
• Embracing technology, helping clients to develop efficient ways of addressing risk and regulatory requirements through automation or technology-enabled solutions.
• Collaborating with PwC teams around the network and working on larger projects, which may include travel/overnight stays away from home or secondments for longer periods (typically to our London offices).
• Embracing opportunities to work across a broader range of business consulting and transformation engagements, beyond those with a sustainability focus.
