Overview
A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You’ll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.

About the team
We are looking for a Firm’s Tax Manager to join our high performing internal finance team at PwC CI. At PwC, our Firm’s Tax team is responsible for the management of the PwC CI firm’s Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and overseas tax affairs. An integral part of the internal Finance & Procurement function, we deal with all tax matters affecting the firm from providing objective advice on managing tax risk to routine compliance while supporting business growth. We make sure that local and cross border tax rules are met and any risks are managed by leveraging the PwC network of cross-border subject matter experts.
Job Summary
As a Firm’s Tax Manager, you will be reporting into the Head of Finance & Procurement. You should have good business skills, an understanding of at least Jersey or Guernsey tax rules and a high level understanding of international tax and cross border risk management.

Responsibilities
As a Firm’s Tax Manager, you will play a key role in the following areas:
• Acting as a subject matter expert in the application, design and implementation of tax risk controls within the business.
• With the support of PwC network experts, providing advice to the business on overseas client (and internal) contracts involving overseas travel and virtual working.
• Managing Firm’s Tax Compliance by:
– Preparing local tax calculations
– Overseeing tax payments
– Processing Tax Returns and other Submissions
• Acting as key contact within the team for:
– UK and Network Tax Leads
– External Tax Advisors
– The Firm’s Tax Partner

• Head of Finance & Procurement
There are no direct reports into this role.
Qualifications & Certifications
• Qualified tax or accountant with recognised accounting body (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, CTA, CIA, CISA), or an international equivalent.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential skills:
• Good understanding of tax law in, at least, either Jersey or Guernsey.
• Good accounting knowledge and understanding of processes and controls.
• Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
• The ability to work under pressure and effectively across multiple assignments for varying time periods and to deliver at pace, changing priorities as required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• Flexibility in your approach to meeting goals as part of the wider team, being open minded and agile to change.
• Be innovative and have the ability to contribute and create new initiatives.
Desirable skills:
• Technology enabled mindset and the ability to identify and drive change through technology adoption.
Travel Requirements
You will be required to travel to the other Island (Guernsey or Jersey) from time to time.
