Our popular Masterclass event is ideal for anyone associated with the private equity industry, cross-border fundraising or distribution – including managers, fund lawyers and fund tax advisers. The Masterclass will be live-streamed on 21 November at 10.00 am GMT, and during the event you will hear from our expert panel on the core issues driving the industry.
You can now watch webinars that have already taken place via the on-demand section of our website, including our recent funds Masterclasses on real estate and distribution, Global Jersey sessions on topics such as funds and sustainability, and IFI Global’s e-seminar ‘Fund Domiciliation Choices for US Managers & Advisors in a Fast-Changing World’.
It’s been a year since we opened our office in New York, and who could have predicted what those past 12 months would bring. Read Joe Moynihan’s latest blog, as he reflects back on 2020 so far, then looks forward to the opportunities ahead.
Our Head of Funds, Elliot Refson, recently participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by PERE focussing on European managers’ efforts to avoid being ‘engulfed by a rising tide of regulation’. The ensuing report, which is sponsored in part by Jersey Finance, is available to read on our website.
We are Silver Sponsors of the Greenwich Economic Forum, taking place virtually from 9 to 11 November 2020. The Forum brings together leading figures in finance, business, media and government to discuss key issues of our times, including the US elections, China, and COVID-19. In the area of finance, we will be hosting a virtual roundtable for fund managers and advisers.
Join us on 5 November for the launch of our new report, ‘South African Fund Managers: Trends in Fund Domiciliation and Capital Raising’. Produced by African Business Magazine, the research surveyed more than 60 LPs and GPs globally and explores the emerging trends for fund domiciliation and capital raising, particularly as a route for private equity impact investing into the wider African continent.
We are delighted to be collaborating with Trowers & Hamlins in a webinar discussing trends in fund structuring regionally and internationally. The event takes place on 23 November and registration will open shortly. More information about the event and how to register, once open, is available on our website.
In a recent article featured in Real Deals magazine, we discussed changes to Jersey’s Limited Partnership legislation. The changes will make it easier for fund managers to migrate limited partnership fund structures – commonly used for private equity funds – to Jersey.
It adds to the range of options open to managers, who in the current climate are exploring how they can better navigate the complex environment.
