A new guide covering ‘Best Practices on Beneficial Ownership for Legal Persons’ highlights Jersey as an example of best practice. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) report identifies challenges facing countries such as ensuring the beneficial owners of companies are identified and what key features an effective regime should have.

Views from the Islamic Finance Wealth Management Community

Research

Our latest GCC focussed white paper researched the views of Islamic wealth managers to understand and communicate the development of Islamic finance wealth management in Asia and beyond. Produced in partnership with Hubbis, the paper reveals that the trillions of dollars of high net worth individual’s wealth across the Islamic world can indeed gradually find more of a home in the world of Islamic wealth management and IFCs that specialise in Islamic finance.

Jersey's Growing Relationship with Africa

Over many decades, Jersey has built strong connections with Africa. Most recently, we hosted a reception with the British High Commission in Kenya, coinciding with the first anniversary of the signing of an MoU between the governments of Jersey and Kenya on financial cooperation.

International Savings Plans Seminar - 10 March, Dubai

New employment regulations and
employment law changes come into effect in the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) from 1 February 2020, as part of the newly introduced DIFC Employee Workplace Savings (DEWS) scheme replacing End of Service benefits.

Jersey Finance will host a seminar highlighting the positive opportunities in this area by linking employee savings experts from Jersey with DIFC and Gulf-based employers, and with DIFC agents as their potential local partners.

Jersey Remains Leading International Finance Centre for Eighth Year in a Row

Jersey remains the leading international finance centre (IFC) after being recognised for the eighth time as ‘IFC of the Year’ for private wealth management at the annual Citywealth IFC awards last week.

Having held the title for eight years, Jersey has consistently ranked higher for its expertise and financial service offering than other shortlisted jurisdictions such as Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, Singapore, and Guernsey.
