Overview of Role
The role has a high profile within the financial services industry demanding an individual with excellent marketing, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. As a Manager within the wider Marketing team, the post holder will need to be a results-driven individual and will be responsible for planning, organising, and executing a wide range of events for Jersey Finance across multiple regions, working closely with a variety of stakeholders. Thereby ensuring Jersey’s finance industry maintains a high profile and continues to thrive.
To achieve this, they will need to have excellent leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire their team. They will need to be approachable, accessible, and responsive to their team’s needs, providing guidance and support when required. They will also need to be able to delegate tasks effectively and empower the team to take ownership of their work.
Principle Accountabilities
- Work closely with colleagues across Jersey Finance to develop and execute an annual plan of events activity, actively managing schedules and budgets across all target sectors and markets, which is aligned with the organisation’s marketing strategy. This requires close collaboration with the Communications and Digital sub-teams within the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies to support these events.
- Responsible for the personal development and growth of your team members. This will involve identifying training and development opportunities, providing regular feedback and coaching, and creating a supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Act as the main point of contact for Jersey Finance’s Member firms with regards Member opportunities for sponsorship and collaboration, proactively devising and promoting packages to potential partners and meeting revenue targets associated with event activity.
- Senior events point of contact for all service providers, including event venues, conference organisers, audio/visual companies, exhibit contractors and courier services, etc, supporting the team in managing and negotiating vendor contracts to achieve optimal price / delivery.
- Develop and apply relevant evaluation tools to measure and record the performance of events against agreed objectives and work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop and implement post-event marketing strategies to maximize ROI and/or make improvements as necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in events management, preferably in the financial services industry.
- An individual who holds a relevant qualification such as a related first degree and /or a qualification from a recognised professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
- Excellent marketing, interpersonal and organisational skills as well as an eye for detail and the ability to manage a broad portfolio of work.
- Experience managing a team.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- IT skills including a high proficiency in MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint and social platforms of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
